a fish tank for a museum

You gave up on the prehistoric/primitive idea? And went with just a fish tank?

Not entirely.

Some of the fish are really hard to get here in saskatchewan, so to start I chose this stocking from my stock and they are on your list you gave me. Just want to get the tank populated with fish that somewhat fit the prehistoric primitive concept. I do have a arowana but I need to grow it out somewhat.

To get some of the better fish I will need the paperwork to do the import since I can not find a supply based in canada. Any posts I put on various forums to source primitive fish yielded no response.

I suppose the tank will look very different in it's stocking in a year from now, because by that time I will have all the import export paperwork in order for my fish company. There are a couple of paleo people that will help me in days to come as well they are just busy in the field right now.

Blurry photo, but that yellow guy is most likely a yellow/orange leuleupi sp. (Lake Tanganyika native).

thanks for the id I will try to get a better picture or even better a better camera

what I meant by the aro grow out is that he is not big enough yet to go in and not be hassled by some of the other fish , I want it to be about 2 inches bigger. I would hate to have something I have been raising from 2 inches get eaten

Hmmmm I don't know pony... sure looks like a neolamp. leleupi to me :)

These guys below are pretty typical appearance for leleupi sp. and they come in bright lemon yellow and bright glow orange:

Chef, here's a daffodil brichardi (below). They usually are not that bright yellow but it does happen.

thanks vader it is most definitely the first one

I will be updating this thread mid week

ok so going in tonight to do the set up on the fish room nothing really much to update, since I have just been doing wc to get the main tank set up for the restocking of the new fishes.

though I will document the rehome of the gar jennifer as they so named her. I will take close up shots of each of the fish as they get ready to go to their new homes.

I think you will all like the way the museum has shaped up.
