A look at GH and magnesium.

Thanks for the replies.

I had posted a source which I had consider reasonable in cost, and even taking shipping into account, it is here:
http://www.amazon.com/Calcium-Magnesium-Citrate-powder-Ounces/dp/B0002PU648

But, the citrate contains benign elements, except carbon, which we consider desirable. And, of course, I would always boost my calcium levels, through calcium acetate to around 60 ppm, then inject the magnesium citrate.

If my old chemistry is still accurate, I would expect to see some calcium citrate generated in the water, well definitely the C02 anyway, but then, I am not a chemist.

And, I am asking the questions here! LOL

maybe we'll get lucky and plantbrain will post here to see what he thinks about sulfur in a tank.

mr barr. we are waiting...

Sulfur is necessary.

I am not down playing the need for sulfur, but that amount seems an over-kill, even to me. Especially when I am already supplying potassium in the form of potassium sulfate.

i agree that its necessary, just how much. and also how much comes in your tap?

Ummm.

Luckily I've never had to dose Ca or Mg...lots in the water already!

You don't find that plants start to suck it down from day one? I mean, most of the calcium and magnesium in our own bones comes from plants. They must supply it to us in mentionable degrees.
