Just to make sure I have this straight --

1. pour in the substrate
2. fill tank with water
3. keep the filter off until the dust settles

Anything else I should know? Do I have to be careful while gravel vaccing or anything?

Be gentle with the eco complete newbie, please...

once your tanks is heavily planted you really wont even be doing any gravel vac. dont want to mess up the root systems.

While I have your attention, any suggestions for low-light foreground plants? I like the carpeted look but I need low-light plants.

I just bought eco complete a 20lb bag. How would you add it in an established tank? It says on the bag if the tank is established to drain the water and then add it so that is what Im planning on do it. Also I have to put it in section by section because I have old gravel that I must remove before I add it.

So you guys think its wise to turn off the filter when adding it huh?

I'd drain most, if not all, of the water, take out all the fish if you can and then do the swap.
