Added new Live Rock --now fish are dying.

.25 is certainly nothing that will cause a fish to be lathargic or breathe heavy....What is the temp of the tank and can you please list all current stock of coral / fish and inverts...

Current temp: 77 degrees

We've had a pajama cardinal, and coral beauty die overnight. Like I said before, they were very healthy and thriving the day before. Currently we've got a small leopard wrasse, bengaii cardinal, twospot gobi, firefish goby, and small clown fish, all are breathing hard but still active and looking for food.

Additionally, we've got a large soft leather coral, a bubble anenome, lots and lots of mushrooms and polyps (everything besides the fish seem to be doing fine). Approx 25-27 lbs of live rock in tank.

An Eheim canister filter, compact lights, and three powerheads..

Also, we've got three turbo snails and four crabs.. as cleanup crew.

I don't know.. Just catching and moving fish to new water and back is traumatic and could cost a few more. How about just running the carbon on the tank now and leave the stressed fish where they are?

I was going to ask how old is your tester? I know I have had liquid tests go bad after only having them for a couple of months simply due to the length of time they sat on the store shelf.

I would continue to do water changes as suggested.

In the future I would suggest putting all new livestock (especially LR) in quarantine for at least 2 weeks. Most likely the LR experienced some die off that led to an amonia spike. The tank may have been able to handle this but IMHO the tank is at maximum stocking levels at best (or overstocked), this led to the amonia spike and quick die off.

Just my opinion
