Adding a new tank mate.

Dang.. I had a few before this one and they only lived around a year. I thought that was normal until I got this one. It is huge now, feelers have to be 5" long each. Sucks he won't be around much longer.

Hanging out upside down on my koralia.. image flipped to show him right side up.

looks more like a corallina powerhead... :headbang2:

I agree with Salty, most everything does say to dose iodine but even a good salt mix (not neccessarily a reef salt but even a good basic salt like IO) will provide enough. Iodine by the way, can cause a lot of damage when overdosed.

Okay so def not gunna worry bout iodine. Everything I've read on here said to becareful its ez to overdose. Thanx for the help everyone. I'll post some pics when I get the shrimp.

Well I got'em. I bought 1 skunk shrimp today. He/she is loving the new home. Thanx for the advice guys/gals. It makes a great addition to my display. :)

I loved my sexy shrimp before I couldn't get them out of the tank and the lunare wrasse ate them. I knew there was a chance. I love them, they're tiny. I'll be putting some in the 29 when it's ready.

but the skunk shrimp is definitely nifty.

Add me as well. Cleaners will be all over the place, fun to watch, and will even clean your hand for you if you stick it in the tank. My cleaner is going on 3 years old. Anyone know how long they live? It still molts like every 3-4 weeks.

I also have 2 pistol shrimps (Japanese and Tiger) that both hide in the rocks the same way my fire shrimp did when I had one. You only see glimpses of them and I have no idea how they have survived in the rocks for 3 years now in my tank. I never seen them come out to eat but the Japanese Pistol is bigger than the fattest fire shrimp I have seen and sounds like a branch breaking in my tank about 2-3 times an hour for years because of it.

Lysmata amboinensis actually have been documented to live to around 6 years in captivity....
