Adding another Cichlid

I would like to add another cichlid to my group, but not sure how compatible it would be.

Looking to add either 2-4 Rainbows, firemouths or Keyholes. Which would be best to add???
 
Firemouths would go nuts in your tanks beating up and possibly killing everything you have. Keyholes have sometimes been known to turn aggressive on Tetras, I would probably go with the Rainbow cichlid, or possibly some Rams.

I heard that the three cichlids were the most peaceful to add. Was I wrong??

PS--I do not want rams--unless I can afford the Electric blues.

Opps. PSS--The cichlids would be for my 120.
 
Barbs may be an issues with cichlids you mentioned.
How about with smaller and mostly bottom dwelling and smaller riverine/Lake Victorian african cichlids such as few different sp of pelvicachromis , or Anamalochromis thomasi, Pseudocrenilabrus multicolors , etc.
Can even consider juvie to mid Geophagus steindachneri or its cousins from SA.
 
Never been a big fan of Kribys, have never seen the Butterfly Cichild in any of the LFS, and I use to keep the Egyptian-mouthbreeder when I was a child.

But would like one of the "America" Cichlids.

PS--The Barbs a quick but not nippy. They get along with my two Blood Parrots just fine (but these Parrots are growing fast!!!)
 
Check P. taeniatus or P. subocellatus or even P. humilis which may come in various color morphs from different regions. These maychange your mind about Kribs..
Geo. steindacneri was one of first fish bred going back 70's. Awesone fish so are other Geos. From what i've seen, ther are more Geos species avail nowdays. Only thing about Geos are they may get too big which you can trade off when time comes.
Look up or search for Nannocara anomala or other Nanochromis Sp.

Just not a fan of "bottom dwelling" cichlids.

I have a very heavily planted tank==Will the Geos dig them up??

That's my concern. I bought the "Dwarf" Blood Parrots very early this year or late last year. They were sooooo cute and only about 2.0 inches long, my Bleeding Hearts were bigger (LOL). Now they are over 4" long, they do grow fast.

Do you recommend any of my ideas??
