Adventures in Fishkeeping or A Fish Tale

When I began war gaming in the MS gaming Zone back in 1999 I joined a ladder club. My screen name came from those days. but in the ladder club and as a SysOp in the gaming Zone I went by the name of Bone_Roller. if you were around in the 60s you will get it.

So if you can, roll a bone and click play below (play it in the highest def. you can) .......

With a nick nack paddy whack
Give a dog a bone
This old man came rolling home

Nope, never heard of muds. The war game I played is called Axis & Allies. It was originally a board game and I played that. A game took many hours to play sometimes even more than a day. It was a strategy game which also, like real life, had a luck factor. It was made into a CD game and early on those were hosted in the MSN Gaming Zone. The game was quite buggy and Hasbro never supported it well enough.

What happened was digitally savvy players hacked the game and both fixed all the bugs and then added improvements. Ultimately one did not even need the CD. Players of the game were very dedicated. I stopped playing over a decade ago. The only game I play these days is poker. I only will play that in person. Online cannot be trusted to be honest not matter what they say. Online I only play for funny money not read cash.

My dream was to discover a poker game where they played for fish instead of chips.....

ps We had one of the very first Pong games that came out.

UGH- big snow. First I shovelled the walkway, then I spent about 2 hours on the tractor with the snowblower clearing the driveway. I was so tired I could not even think about working on tanks. :(

The snow was young and I am not ......

OK, some of us need a hint about "muds". I certainly didn't play that way at any time. Enlighten us old/new timers (sounds like rugby, lol). Not D & D, although I didn't play that either...You gamers, ha, do tell!

Electronic text only game, but multiplayer.

Short for Multi User Dungeon

Kind of related to D&D, still pretty nerdy

If you want more reading.. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD

I played maybe 87 thru 96 maybe?

Thanks, dougall. You were a big time gamer nerd, lol...but at least you kept up with the times...way back in the day. More than I've done, well, ever.

My younger B-I-L's biggest compliment ever may have been "you guys are accidentally cool & don't know it" over some art, furniture or other decor item. Kind of backhanded but I took as a good thing...;) It was in the early 90s, I'm pretty sure we haven't been cool since, certainly not on purpose :p
