IMHO a convict is not doable...

I do agree that antaboids are probably the best bet.

True a 6 inch convict is too big for a 10 gallon tank. However if you start with one at 2 inches, you have quite a while to upgrade the tank or get rid of the fish.

A cutteri tops out at 5 inches, so that might be an even better option.
