agghhh neighbours!!!

I'm showing my wife this thread to explain why I go out of my way to be as rude and inhospitable as possible.

Door to door sales, religious groups, nosy neighbors, political groups etc... all avoid coming to the front door. I guess my standard "What the [bleep] do you want?" greeting works well. Especially when it is associated with the sound of a shotgun being cocked.

It doesn't seem to work on family however. Sadly their the ones I really want to avoid. Anybody got any ideas how to scare them away? They leave my fish alone but they attack, my parenting, my career, my house, my car, how fat I am, and just about everything else.
 
well the clean up went ok, did the 'super water change thing' i removed 80% with gravel vac, topped it back up with dechlorinated water to around half full, then took it back down to about 10% left, then refilled again,then added the fishpigs back to the tank. the fish looked awful, they were so bloated, 4 of them are now swimming as usual, no problems,just sluggish and they just looked super fat but i think they have shrunk down a bit now, but the one smallest veiltail calico isnt looking too bright, he is swimming round but is swimming head up, he almost looks like he is walking in the water coz his tails so long they look like legs, he doesnt seem to have as much energy as usual. could the over feeding have caused him any problems. i wont be feeding them today,they have some live plants the can chew on if they want but thats it.

ive hidden the food,its not even in the same room as the tanks now!
 
Yes, the overfeeding could've caused a swim bladder problem. If it doesn't go back to normal in a day or so, try giving them skinned peas for their next feeding.
 
yes i will, they had skinned peas for breakfast yesterday, they usually get them once a week, but il do it again for them if he isnt better by tomorrow. at the moment he is still standing up on his tail while swimming,or sitting on the bottom doing nothing.

I suppose telling them "if you can't be civil and have a nice conversation without attacking me or my family in any way, you are not welcome in my house" then throwing them out if they do won't work?

If the skinned peas don't do teh trick, your could always try adding some aqarium salt into the tank to help flush some of the toxins and stabilize their swim bladder.
 
i was talking to a man when i was in colorado, trucking, and he said that his wife had a koi pond in the yard and his (drunk) friends thought it would be funny if the shot paint balls at the koi, well they did and killed many of her thousands of dollar fish,.. so they went out and replaced them with a bag of feeder goldfish:eek: needless to say the guy had a hard time with his wife after that,......

boy some people should be burned alive, meaning drunken friends...
 
Oh my gosh :eek: These stories just have me reeling as well. Like the day I came home from visiting my parents. My husband (at the time) told me that the neighbor kid was over and she burnt off the wiskers on one of my cats and he came in the house to find her trying to stick the lighter where nothing should be ....

He was so mad he threw her out and was never allowed in my house again. I was pregnant and she was quite lucky I was at my parents. (3hr away) I would have kicked her a** pregnant and all, she was a teenager and should have known better.
