air pump, battery operated

Welcome to AC! :D

I have a Penn-Plax Silent Air B11 and use it on tanks up to 100g. Works great

I prefer spending the extra dough on a battery opperated filter. Granted, they use lots of battery juice n all and they might not filter my prefered 8-10x turnover rate but they keep the fish alive!

So no, I do not use air pumps in the event of a power outage.

I don't think I've ever seen these... what kind do you have? How long will they run on a set of batteries?

Argh... I just had the name of the filter on my mind as a friend is asking for one.

I bought it from a company in Canada. They are rare, and as far as battery consumption goes, they are rather inefficient. They last for 3-4 hours before you need to replace the batterys. But as I said, they have saved my fish's life more than once! I dont have enough of these filters to run on all 18 aquariums so in the past I have crunched fish together in about 11 aquariums but it does work.

I think the brand name was Stellar... or something like that. Hang on, I am surfing the net now to look for them.
