Aknif's Crazy Christmas Tree!

We haven't put up our tree the last couple of years b/c we have been afraid that the border collie we found will like it too much :thud: !! Hes a boy, and our other 2 dogs are female, so we've never had this problem before!!

I...just...don't...get it. Is there a reason it's upside down? Maybe it's like some form of art nouveau, lol?

HOw is it suspended?

Glue the kids to the ceiling and you're all set!

It's not really HUNG from the ceiling, it stands on it's own trunk and pedestal base... but there is a hook in our ceiling and there is a chain at the top of the tree and you hook it up, to stabilize it... keeps it from tipping over obviously because it's completely top heavy.

The presents go on the floor! ;) But at our house, we put the presents by the fireplace... Since Santa usually overloads the stockings and they end up on the floor rather than hanging from their hooks on the mantle... so the gifts kinda end up in a pile near the stockings. :D

From my understanding, the upside down trees are ALL the RAGE this year and there was a news story on them a couple weeks ago that said it's not a new concept. That in like 12th century Europe, this was the way trees were done... Something like that anyway.

It's just interesting... We wanted something really "different" when we went shopping for our tree. When we saw this, we said "Well, THAT'S certainly different enough!" ;)

We're not "real" tree people. Neither of us grew up with real trees at home and we're not much for someone trekking into the forest to chop down a perfectly good tree just to stick it in our house for a month.

(Editors Note: Please people, yes, I DO know that they FARM Christmas trees these days, so don't jump on me about it.... It's just not something we're into.)

That is so weird! Never seen one before. Where do you put the presents? On the ceiling? ;)

Why Lila...everybody gets Helium Balloons this year for Christmas! :D :D

Very Pretty home you have there! Your Dingo all curled up there just gives it a Norman Rockwell look with a twist! LOL.

I'm more of a tradition Christmas girl I guess but it is very cool. :D

Aknif - Don't feel bad about not using a real tree! We don't either. I (personally) see no point in chopping down a perfectly good, young, oxygen-giving tree just to toss it in the garbage in 3 weeks. Plus, buy a nice fake one and you're not shelling out money every year. There are no needles to clean, no major fire hazard, my cats won't chew the bark off of it, and I don't need to water it:)

'Course, I like to keep mine right side up:D.

im 23years old and we've have never had a "Real" tree in our home. We have had the same artificial tree since i was about 3 or 4. It may not be as "good looking" as a "Real" one(or as good as it did 20years ago) but i can tell you this: it still does the job and makes the family happy:) isnt that what its all about ;)
