Algae problems

ur mollies shld eat them

I would say start adding GH booster, you GH needs to come up a bit.
I would say do a much larger water change weekly, more like 40-50%, not 20%.
I would say add Otos, for me they are much better algae eaters than nerites, including off your leaves which is what you need. They are small, cheap, cute. What could be better?

I'll think about GH booster.
Also I have increased the amount of water changed.
Otos are hard to get but they are on my shopping list.

If you buy otos (which I'd also recommend), buy a few more than you need as they can be difficult to acclimate to new tanks. They tend to be underfed as well. And then acclimate them very slowly to your tank, adding new water gradually over at least an hr.

And if your tank gets too cold at nite (unheated) I'm not sure lif that will affect them. No experiece there but I'd consider it.

I am looking for a second filter, the space I have in the cabinet fits for an Eheim 2213.
I am doing this to add an extra water movement and I don't like internal pumps because I have a lot of tiny fishes which might get sucked into it.

Seems like maybe the plant is producing ammonia and the algae is liking it. Figure out why the plant is doing this and this may help.
