Algae problems

When ammonia levels are high, it can cause the plant to start producing ammonia itself. There is probably a good reason the algae is on the plant. Its not incredibly horrible, just some slight adjustment. Maybe eliminate ammonia altogether. Maybe when the plant is better it will stop producing ammonia. I dont know what else to tell you.

and read. Planted tanks are a balance of light, co2 and nutrients. These sites are planted tank sites that can give you the understanding you need to do what everyone here is telling you to do. It's all good advice, but getting rid of the current algae without understanding what is causing it is a bandaide. If you don't fix what is causing the algae, it will just come back over and over again.
