Our Betta tank has always had a serious algae problem, even before it was put in front of a window. We decided it was time to put a black background to try to minimize the light and the gravel was not salvageable. Traded it out for pool filter sand. We are going to move some of the cory fry back into the tank when they grow up, hence the sand. Had to show someone, tell me what you think.

The pictures make it look really cloudy, but it's really clear, wonder why that is.. hmm

Very nice!

Nah no more plants. The hood was set up for incandescents so we are using those florescent bulbs that are sold for fish tanks that screw in, can be found everywhere, but I've forgotten how many watts. They are only on for 8 hours a day unless the cat plays with the timer.

Before it was moved everything was green, but not nearly as bad as it got. I think the window is what pushed it over the edge.

Nice looking fish and good job on the tank...
