Being down in FL if you can't find one or get one from your LFS, then they are just being lazy. Where abouts in FL are ya? I have a few contacts down there that might be able to hook you up if your close.
I vote otos. With the fish you have in what is essentially a 10g, even a brisstlenose would be kind of big no? Ohh, did you mean mean 20g long, or 20 liter? If it's a 20g long, then the bristlenose would work, but i still vote oto. They are fantastic at getting into crevases that plecos would not be able to clean.
Bristlenoses are pretty darn good, lol. And yeah it is a 20 Long. I'd vote for a smaller species, like the albinos or regular temminicki (eh however ya spell it)
I also vote for the otos, a bristlenose would get far too large for a 20 gallon. 2-3 otos should do the trick. I've got 1 in each of my breeding tanks, and they do just fine. Any more and they don't seem to do well at all.
Not true at all CD. There are many different species of Bristlenose plecos, not just one. The Temminicki (sp) and the dwarf albinos generally don't get over 3.5". You can't just lump bristlenoses into one large species, cause there are many, just like otos, there are quite a few different oto species.

Yes, they are a bit harder to come by, but most shops can get them still. Even the larger 6" onces will do just fine in a 20L. They don't need to be in groups and really aren't that active. If you can't get the smaller species though, I do agree that Otos would be a better choice.

lol, hate to keep arguing with you. Bristlenoses really aren't that bad as far as waste production goes. A single one isn't any worse than a small group of otos would be, and they do have stomachs, just not very effcient ones. Another thought I had though, was maybe one of the smaller Farlowella species. Those things are super super mellow (To the point where when doing a WC I need to take one off the back of the filter tube or he just sits there stuck to it out of the water) not active at all really, and they do a super job cleaning up algea.
