All algae eaters at Petsmart on sale for $1!!

I'm torn. I'd bought from my Petco before without problems, but recently they'd had an ich outbreak- it was visible in a few tanks, and no one seemed to care. I'd love some more ottos, but my QT is in use, so not worth it, unfortunately.

Petco and Petsmart in our area always has problems in the tanks, you never know.

I'm wondering if Petsmart is getting out of the large pleco business, hence the clearing of stock. That might be too good to wish for-- in the case of most of the public, they don't know what they're in for.

Hopefully employees will know better. I know I only suggest otos and rubber lips to everyone knowing the others either are too aggresive (CAE) or grow too large (common pleco). Though thinking most employees know better is wishful thinking:headshake2:

As far as I am aware they are not clearing out any stock. Unfortunately...

We are having the sale at Petsmart mostly so they can pull more customers in because our tanks are on sale as well.

Makes me nervous because some noob might come in and say "hey I can afford 3 plecos for my 10 gallon". We cant stop them from buying them just hope they listen to us when we say "DONT DO IT"

We will still carry plecos after the sale. we are not discontinuing them.

Mine did..

we talked about why they would discontinue carrying the bristlenose...the smallest of the plecs..but keep the 24" monster species....:thumbsdown:

Sweet. Need a couple otos..or maybe something else... hm...
But yeah, I agree it's gonna lead to a lot of max 24" fish ending up in 20" tanks.
