This is for the people whom still eat thier patties rare, medium, and do not understand cooking to over internal temperature of 160 degrees. This heat enough to kill it. Safe Handling Labels are on the Packages

Read this article and find out 3% of the population do not check internal temps

including myself. just because some of us prefer our burgers on the pink side, doesnt mean we don't understand it. i'm willing to bed a whole heck of a lot more than 3% of the population doesnt stick a thermometer in their burgers. :) hence the need to get the word out. i dont care how well i cook my food, if there is a harmful bacteria that shouldnt be there, i don't want it.

If you do not want to put a thermometer in your food, then why do you have a thermometer in your aquarium? Wal-Mart tests their hamburger and then gas-flushes the package with CO but that will never kill all bacteria, but just makes the packaging look prettier and more colorful. Take as much care with your body as you do your fish and you should live a nice healthy life. :P

Wouldn't the thermometer in our tanks refer more closely to the thermostats in our homes? I for one don't measure flake temperature before I feed them... I'd be shocked to meet anyone that temperature checked every burger they ate. Restaurants don't, when was the last time you ate out?

id say both are good symptoms of mcdonalds syndrome... as well as an increase in girth and hormonal inbalances.

its days like this im glad to be vegetarain, and that I make my mother buy only organic or wild-caught meat.

your mom catches wild cows??? shes crazy!!!:22_yikes:

Maybe it would be better compared to the thermostat in our homes, but I think you missed the point altogether :screwy:. You do not hesitate to closely monitor your aquarium's temperature, but you will not simply stick a thermometer into food that is going into YOUR BODY and costs less than $10??? It takes just a few seconds and could potentially save your life. Maybe I'm biased because I work in an industry that deals with retail markets and food processors, but I've never been more aware of what is involved in processing food...knowing what I know...I'll take the food thermometer.

So you take it with you when you eat out? If so, I have to applaud you and admit to being within the lazy majority. I think the 3% number was waaaay lower than reality though.
