Am i doing something wrong?

I think there are only 4 zebra danios in the tank.
What I would do is a another 8 danios and keep an eye on the water parameters. There has to be a base of nitrifying bacteria in there by now, maybe very little but it has to be there. I think its time to jump up the bioload a tad......

Ammonia - .25ppm
Nitrite - 0ppm
Nitrate - 0ppm

I have not cleaned the filter, the filter is an Aqua-tech 10/40 power filter (hangs on the back). The filter came with a blue filter cartridge and a Bio-fiber cartridge. There are 4 zebra danios in the tank

You can try adding bio-spira....that should cycle your tank much faster, possibly even within a few days.

You made alot more work for yourself by adding fish...if you had no fish in the tank you wouldn't have to do any water changes at all ,and you'd cycle faster. All you'd have to do is add a few drops of ammonia every other day, instead now you have to do the one man bucket parade.

Do you think i have enough of a fish load to add bio-spira? because i read if i dont, it will bring my ammonia to zero which will then starve the good bacteria starting my cycle all over again
 
The tank has been running with those 4 fish for two months now. At this rate the tank will never cycle. And after 2 months there has to be something growing in there. Adding a few more fish will supply more "food" for the bacteria and get the cycle moving. So you will have to do more water changes and monitoring but thats what you get when you cycle with fish. A couple may die but thats also a common price to pay when doing a fish cycle.

I would also do what others suggested and get your hands on some "dirty" filter media from a friend or your lfs.

Now im getting confused haha, im told my tank will cycle in several months and im told my tank will never cycle. I'm told to add more fish, and im told not to add more fish. Someone please clarify!
 
Basically you are being given peoples opinions which they have given you pro's and con's for and against, it is up to you to make the final decision.

If you are doing water changes everyday just to keep the level of ammonia at .25 then you have plenty of load for the bio-spira.

Stop your water changes and add the Bio-spira( pour it over your filter media)...then monitor your readings the next couple days , if AMmonia and Nitrites drop down to zero then go ahead and add the rest of your fish slowly over the course of a few weeks, you should be good to go.
