Just a quick question on stocking for my 55G. Am i overstocked as it is or do i have room for a few more small fish ? I do weekly 30% WC's.

Fish are in my signature below

Thanks.

Oh yeah.

The bala sharks alone will outgrow that tank by themselves. As will the clown loaches.

Oh yea i know that. I will move both the balas and the clown loaches when they get to big.

Well, I'd leave what you have, then, because everything but the neons are going to get bigger and increase the load.

not to overload your tank, but clown loaches will be more interesting and more active if they are in bigger groups..at least 5 is best.....

Yea thats true, i had 4 but 1 died last week :( There still over active now lol They seem to get all the food before anyone else has a chance.

I think you will regret balas. Clowns do grow slowly so maybe a year will be fine. But very soon the balas will start going crazy. They always seem to, especially in community tanks. They can ram themselves into walls and kill themselves easily. I also think you have way too many algae eating fish in that tank. I would keep the bristlenose and ditch the CAE's if possible as they will get to 10 inches and are super aggressive as adults. Removing those fish and adding even more neons would be cool.

:iagree:

More neons in my opinion.:dance:

Balas = Overexcited, 14-18", 150g+, schools.

Clowns = Super-social, 12-16", 125g+, schools.

Algae eaters = Super-agressive, 10-12", 150g+, alone.

You have a pretty big number of plecos in there too... Add more neons after all the hazards (not so much for the clowns) are gone.

IMO a proper sized group of bala sharks should be kept in a 400+ gallon tank and a proper sized group of clown loaches in a 180+ gallon tank when they are full grown.
