Can a ton of snails cause ammonia levels to rise in a 10 gal?
I have a 10 gal and started off with 22 shrimp about two months ago. I had three die today out of no where. I tested the water and my ammonia levels are high.
I've noticed that the snails in my aquarium have been breeding like crazy and the amount of poop has increased too. I'm going to do more frequent water changes, but I'd like to know if they're the source of the problem. My water levels tested normal until today.
I'm not sure what kind of snails they are, but I know for sure they're not rams horns.
What's the best way to deal with them? What options do I have other than picking them all out and killing them one by one?
