Big update!!
Alot has happened since this sight went down. First off, cabinet, and canopy have arrived, although i have not put canopy together yet. I had to midify the tank a bit in the back, but that was fairly straight forward. Just had to move a beam over to fit the sump in.
Soo, heres a small glimpse of what has been done.
1. Installed a RO/DI unit in the basement using 1/2 inch copper piping. I ran a tap right up to the tank behind it, to make it easy for top offs, and filling 20 gallon salt mixing tank. Took a whole day, but well worth the effort.
2. I ordered 230 lbs of haiti rock (regular plus some lettuce, fully cured!!). Got an excellent price, $600 cash for all 230 lbs. These are very nice pieces as well, as they are all 30+ lbs each. Big show pices with tons of odd shapes and creveces.
3. Installed 30 gallon sump (left in pic) and 20 gallon mixing tank (right in pic). I placed 3/4 sheets of black painted styrofoam to cut vibrations, and help with any uneveness.
4. Put weather stripping on top of stand where tank will sit, to yet again cut vibrations and noise in general.
Im basically just waiting for my tank (110 gallon, 48 x 18 x 30) to show up, which is supposed to be ready today. Had it drilled in 3 spots, with reduced fittings for possible future expansion, ie. adding bigger return pump. Two holes are for the shoots, and one is for the over flow box and drain.
Will hopefully get back of tank painted (black) by Saturday and have tank up and running Sunday. Monday i'll be picking up the rock, which is being held for me and being cycled as we speak!!
Boy im excited.
