Angel Veil Rams HELP!

could be. all the ones at the lfs are still alive..then again, who knows what was sold and what just um.. isn't there. I'll try the drip thing. we do have a high ph ( 8) and very hard water so it could be an acclimation issue.

test the water in the transport bag ..next time. that gives you a starting point .

Excellent point. will try it tonight when we get more.
so, originally 2 male and 4 female were bought. not sure what the one or two remaining are. was plannign on buying 6 more tonight ( sold in 3's) too many? do I need to worry about m/f?

don't you have a post in a different forum with rams dying?
and in this post you have ammonia showing in the tests?
in that case you need to do water changes..rams are sensitive to ammonia, nitrites and even nitrates (blue rams)

yes. sorry. didn't know g/f had started this thread in here.

lol..no problem.

just keep the water pristine till the bacteria can catch up..as long as some is present the tank may be only experiencing a mini cycle.

Went to get the new rams. lfs guy said Ammonia was still stress level and even with a water change it was iffy. fortunately he said he had no problem holding them a few more days. Think we found the source of the ammonia being up.. that would be the AWOL ram.. that was found under a rock ( no clue how it got there). Hopefully with w/c and a couple of days things will even out.

that could be the reason ;)

do a large water change and monitor the parameters.

once the tank is stable you will want to add fish slowly. keep in mind tho that you should
look at qt for the new fish.

my concern is that the tank is fully established prior to adding more rams( species which historically does not do well in new tanks but seem to do better in a 'mature' tank.)
