I have a school of 11 Black Skirt Tetras in a 40G tank. I have heard from a few here and other places that Angels can make good tankmates for these Tetras. My question is how many Angels can I add to my tank? I would be completely satisfied with the Tetras and, say, 3 Angels as I know the Angels can grow fairly large. Would 3 Angels be reasonable to add to my tank? Thanks in advance.

yeah, assuming there arent many other tankmates, I think ONE angelfish would be suitable for your tank.

Nope, nothing else. I really just want the Tetras and Angels. I know that both species have been known to nip fins so I don't really want to tempt them with other fish.

So just one Angel?

A trio of corys would be fine with one angel and a school of tetras. But after that I would leave it just at that.

My black skirts (are these the same as the red eye) kinda chase my dwarf gourmies around

So I went and got one Angelfish. It is the veil tail kind. I think it is a Koi angel because it has some yellow as well as white with black markings on it.

I still want to get another one, but I don't know if it would be a good idea. What do you think? Should I just get a few Corys? Or could I get another Angel?
