Another Dead Discus....

I'll check the Ph again this afternoon.

I have to admit, I have no idea what it normally is though, I never was too concerned about the Ph of the tank..

How big are the clowns & SAEs? I'm wondering if they are just too much activity to not freak out the discus...

the biggest clown is about 2 1/2 inches..
the SAE's are about 3 inches.

I have had them all for quite some time. the clowns were about 1 inch when I got them.. SAEs were pretty big but have had them for like 8 months.

You said the ph was usually higher. I thought discus prefered a low ph anyway?

I expected it to be higher. My tap water is like 8.7 I have been mixing RO with the tap water to achieve a lower Ph. I knew discus preferred a lower ph, so I wasnt too concerned with it gradually dropping...

Zig, can you drop check the CO2 level? Even with my "fancy" pH controller I still use a 4dKH drop check solution to make sure CO2 is at 40 ppm.

I have the drop checker, as well as a red sea co2 level test kit.
I checked it with the redsea last nigh and it was ok, but it may vave been higher, I had already done 60% wc..
