I just got a new tank (yay), and it came with 6 occupants. My cichlid knowledge extends about as far as oscars and angels, so I'm hoping to get ID's. I'm also looking for homes for them, free for pick-up in southwest MI (will put them up in marketplace once I've got them ID'ed), PM me if interested. Without further ado:

Jack Dempsey?

Picture showing the relative sizes, the yellow one is the same size as the smaller two...

The blue one in the 4th picture is an Acie (but the type without the yellow fins)

and yes the pleco is a common...

other than that-- im not an expert on south americans which most of those appear to be...

acie is african though... so it may not be a good idea to keep them together-- african and SA cichlids have different water requirements

also the one in the first pic may be a green severum

You have a mix of Tang, Malawi, and Central America.
1) JD
2)Frontosa
3)Pleco--Common (Not sure)
4)Malawi (Zebra??)
5)Tang--Curvicept
6)Looks like a Brichardii (or Brichardii family)
7) mix

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I think only the yellow one is left unidentified.

1. JD
2. Frontosa
3. Common pleco
4. Blue Cobalt
5. Calvus
6. ????

Here are a couple more pics, if that helps. The fins look Brichardi to me, but I'm not sure about the color being right.

I'm also so thrilled to know that these fish are all so compatible (sarcasm). And in a 60 gallon tank, too. Goody. Hopefully, I can get them into more appropriate homes soon.

i'll take your calvus, if ya want to ship up to my neck of the woods, lol!

I totally disagree on the 4th pic being a zebra

I keep malawis... and I have 3 of those fish

they are Psuedotropheus Acie... I am 100% posotive
