Anubias Help!

Well I was moving my plants around, and when I pulled out the anubias very lightly, most of the leaves and steams came off. I have about 3 small ones left. How to I plant them? It lloks like there was some type of yucky substance on the plant too.

Specs 22 20 watt fixtures
20 long tank
flourish liquid ferts iron trace and excel
DIY Co2

anubias does not need to be planted.

if you do only the roots and not the rhizome can be planted.. anubias grows great tied to wood or rocks.

Now its on a rock and is, Why should the plants always be tied up?

Anubias shouldn't fall apart when handled, it's a very tough plant. If it's falling apart, then it's rotting away.

yes it needs to be gently tied down to something to take root onto it. not always but in your case it's best. you can use sewing or fishing string or rubber bands quite successfully and they should break down not long after the plant has taken root. or you can use a zip tie gently and have to cut it off later.

Ok i used some fishing ling to attach it. It did seem like it was rotting away, but I have no idea why. The problem is, I have another anubias in the mail comming to me as we speak. First I'm going to attach it first thing to another rock

one note; fishing line may not break down and many less expensive brands will not. you have to pay a little... lot extra to save the environment slightly. isn't that a hoot?

anyway it's easy enough to cut through later.
