Hello everyone,

Well, I'm looking for some mystery snails in interesting colors (blues, greens, ivory, gold, purples, etc.) I'm in the Phoenix area, AZ, and the fish stores we have around here are either kind of limited or hit-and-miss in their snail selection. So, I was wondering if anyone has any snails or knows anyone with snails, or even knows of a quality store, that will ship some snails to me?

Right now I have two brownish striped ones and a black one, so I'm not really looking for those colors.

Also, I had real, true apple snails (they were baseball size) in the past and loved them, but no one seems to really have them anymore. (Or they think they have them but are not really sure...) Is there anywhere I can find these, or should I just not bother trying?

Thanks much!!

Search the classifieds there are quite a few that have them for sale. By "true apple snails" I am assuming you mean canas. Canas are illegal to ship from state to state so unless you find someone in your state or you drive to a different state to pick them up then you willprobably have a hard time finding them. Good luck:)

Check the classifieds here on AC. Msjinkzd, among other members here, sell pomacea bridgesii (mystery snails) in the colors you're wanting. Also the apple snail you said you had that was the size of a baseball is a haustrum, I think. Or it could have been caniculata. I know both of those are illegal to ship across state lines, making them very difficult to attain.

Ok... Sorry if I'm being kind of an idiot here. I'm new at all this forum stuff.

I knew that apple snails were illegal in some states (or had heard that), but didn't know about the shipping regulations. Good to know. Thanks. So, now I'll ask, does anyone know anyone in AZ with apple snails? There seems to be some discrepancy on the scientific name, and I don't know what my original ones actually were (they were given to me by a friend.)

I did search through the posts in the classifieds, and they are all pretty old, so does anyone know of anyone who has snails available now?

Gracias.

lol. U are new so your forgiven, some of those members always have brigs in. If your interested send them a pm and they will get back to you and let you know if or what they have left in stock.

I have 2 clutches growing out, but only a couple that are of shippable size right now. In a month or so I will have about 250 available for new homes. I have purple striped, magenta striped, wild type striped with a dark foot, ivory and blues typically.

At least you're safe from temptation by a rather large pond. We stateside folk have no protection!
LMAO! How true.:naughty:

Seadance, I have hundreds of canas here. Unfortunately, the large pond is barricading me from giving you some. It's illegal to ship in your state anyway.:(

P.S. I'm cursing the egg clutches. I keep disposing the lot of them as more are being laid than I can cope with.:irked:
