I just picked up my special order of 8 of these little guys yesterday. I have them in QT, with some simple gravel substrate and a couple fake plants, as they really like to hide, but there is enough visibility so I can observe, if I hide...LOL. According to the supplier, they are captive bred, all look healthy and they are colorful and active. I am hoping to breed them if all goes well.
Anyway, I have been unsuccessful in my attempt to feed them. I know they have tiny mouths, and may not be able to eat whole brine shrimp(frozen), so I gave the shrimp a good chopping with a razor. The fish would approach the area where the shrimp had fallen, as if they smelled something good, but none of them seemed to want to eat. I crushed up some betta pellets, also, and no luck. I have been unable to find Hikari micro pellets, I may have to order them. So I just siphoned out all the uneaten food, don't want to funk up the water.
Should I go buy some bloodworms? Or would you suggest flake?
Thanks in advance, guys.
