any one know of a good diet?

My girlfriend and I lost weight just by eliminating the starch portion of dinner and replacing it with a second veg. If we eat anything starchy it is beans (high in fiber). Kind of a modified Adkins or southbeach. Ohh I almost forgot we only eat chicken breasts and Tilapia. I call it the chichlid diet. Get it? chicken and cichlids? Ha I kill me.

MOOMAN! How can you look at your fish after you eat Tilapia? You cannibal! Hehe.....

When i need to knock off a few pounds, i up the excercise, cut out the junk, minimal processed food...easy on the starchy carbs...use quality whole grain foods...LOTS of veggies..I have a big salad for lunch....fruit for dessert....lean meats....like an earlier post said, have your carbs early in the day and phase into more protein as the day goes on..try not to eat late at night...if you can excercise first thing in the morning before breakfast, that helps...try to break up your meals into 5-6 smaller ones..digestion burns calories....don't skip breakfast! Oh and LOTS of water! Try to hit about a galllon per day!

but any one have any good tricks ..that i can do to tone the tummy while walking? i am not really looking forward to sit ups ...you know like can i do like power walking will that help the abs?

Well, it won't get huge results but generally speaking, sucking in your tummy tightens the abdomen and would help tone. Power walking should help. The twisting of your trunk will help tighten the obliques. Situps stink but try doing them outside of a workout schedule in small doses. Do them during the comercials on a tv show or do a few right before bed. For me its the concentrated effort of doing sets of situps until I'm sore that I hate.

I'm sorry, but cichlids are tasty. Look at the nutritional info on Tilapia. And since they feed on algea you don't have to worry about heavy metal toxicity.

My recipe: Cichlid Yum Yum

Tilapia filets
1/4 cup Lite Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Lemon Juice
Package of Mushrooms or 2 small cans of "Mushroom Stems and Pieces"
1/2 teaspoon ginger

Place cichlid filets in greased baking dish.
arrange mushrooms around filets
Mix soy sauce, lemon juice, and ginger and pour over the cichlid and shrooms
Bake at 350 for 15 min, Broil for 10

Serve with steamed broccoli and Brown Rice (if you gotta have a starch)

Hehe..they are tasty aren't they! I love Tilapia too! I'll try that recipe!

I love pilates too. I still do the floor exercise (when motivated), but I had to quit the ball exercises because it was injuring my knees. I can still use the ball for back exercises my doc. taght me. I just can't do the high energy version on my DVD anymore. The floor exercises focus more on the torso anyway.

my Tilapia is hiding...(he's just the right size for the frying pan)

I Always eat breakfast, eat fruit for lunch, cut back on portions and cut back on starches. I also do a 3 mile aerobic walk every morning. Avoid junk food...and of course, if you like something and it tastes good - STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!! ;)

Biologicly you can't limit food and gain results alone. limited food lowers your metabolizm and thus your requirements to maintain. You would do more to up your activity level a little as you go along and soon what is needed to upkeep now will be less than you need for your metabolizm.

Start with little things, as suggested by others. Add a walk around the block, do something active with your kids.
