Kas it right, 3 lbs isn't much at all. I've personally not seen a +/-5 lb weight change in a day...at least not as a relatively sedentary adult. :D It's a very different situation with a very active teen lifestyle. Although I can see a +/-5 lb change over a month's time...along with a big shift in mood. ;)

No, BMI isn't the best, but it's a good quick estimate. I linked to that particular BMI calculator because it had the extra settings for age, and a link for a better calculator for men, plus there is further info in the lower portion of the page that talks about BMI inaccuracies for those who are muscular or athletic. I find that, for the average person, that the BMI can put their height/weight ratio into better perspective.
 
yeah, i think i have pretty much come to the conclusion that weight is not the issue ...lol just that i am getting out of shape...i just got done walking around walmart and my shins are killing me! i actually wore sneakers instead of flipflops! ..i think lifting the extra weight down there ..i earned a sundea...now i need to find one! lol but i am thinking exercise is going to be my best bet ...
 
BMI calcs. don't really take into account body frame type, amount of muscle, etc..Body fat percentage calculations are a better indicater...you can get a decent body fat analyzer calculator for $20 at a drug store, target etc. that is fairly accurate.

Judgemax, I'm with Tomm (I think it was) I'm 31 and I have two kids. I eat well, make dinner at home most every night, not TOO much junk, but i've been known to have a plate of nachos before bed on occasion.... ;) Wanted to lose the baby bulge...

Once I was watching Montel Williams. I SWEAR to you that I never daytime TV unless it's The Wiggles or Dora... :D Anyway, he had his personal trainer on and he was explaining how he's so much more cut than he was before with this new trainer.

You have to THINK about it while you're exercising... Think about holding your stomach in and standing up straight. Think about what muscles you're working and how they're working. Suck it in and tense your stomach the whole time. It's HARD to do! You're strolling along and you're all concentrating on your muscles and then... Ooohh, there's a pretty hound! Wow! That cloud looks like a Snickers bar! HEY! Did I pay my cell phone bill? It's really, really hard to keep concentrating the whole time! But if you do, you'll see the results!

OR, you can toss your kids in a Burley trailer and ride uphill on your mountain bike several times a week! That works too! ;)
