any problems running co2 in a canister instead of using a diffuser. any one recomend it? what name brand canister filter and any drop in bio load?

well some people just do it fine while others say the CO2 can build up in the filter and harm the motor. personally i would rather be safe then sorry so i have an inline CO2 reactor on the out put of the filter and i don't have to worry about any of it.

I have been running CO2 into my FX5 for a couple of months with no problem, but as said above Co2 can build up in some canisters, the FX5 purges itself every 24 hours so their is no chance of CO2 build up.

I've an inline reactor with my canister also. I rarely get any kind of build up at all, just in the reactor, but that's why I have a valve to release any undissolved CO2. But my CO2 shuts off an hour before the lights go out anyway, so there is plenty of time for any undissolved CO2 to get all mixed up before the lights go out. If you got a canister filter and is thinking about an inline reactor, I say go for it, you wont regret it. Just make sure you have a long enough reactor for your filter.

thanks guys good information. can you run it in your intake without the reactor? it should do the same job if my pump is on the bottom of the canister and my input is on top correct?

I inject my pressurized CO2 directly into the intake of my XP2.
At first I had the BPS too high and got some bursts through the
spraybar.
I cut it back some and now runs fine.
No cloudy mist out of the spraybar and the CO2 controller/solenoid
shuts off the flow at 6.5 pH.
I’d been doing that previously with DIY CO2, but I went pressurized
almost a year ago.
Works for me.
