Any suggestions for another fish for Damon?

I wouldn't let size between the two angelfish be that big of a factor. You are looking at a difference of roughly half a centimeter, if even that. Actually, there is now plenty of evidence to suggest that these fish are the exact same species, only really varying in color.

Well, the store that had the cherub the other day had one about 3/4 of an inch long, while most flames you see are about 2-3 inches.

Actually, all the cherubs I've seen have been super tiny...

The only thing with those angels is that they aren't reef safe are they?

I'm totally in the same situation as your subliminal, i just finished with my QT for one fish and im ready for my next. I have 2 ocellaris clowns right now and thats it in my 30long... I was hesitant of angels because they say to use caution with them in a reef, but i don't have any SPS so it might be ok... The flameback would be my choice, its an absolutely beautiful fish...

Anyone have any experience with angels in reefs?

The dwarf angels are considered "more" reef safe than large angels in general. But even they are known to pick at corals. I had two flame angels and one potters in a reef at different times. All 3 of them were okay in the beginning... but one of the flames eventually started nipping at... i forget which one.. but i think it was one of the LPS I had. Possibly a torch. The thing to emphasize with that situation was that he was "ok" for first few months. So they may appear reef safe in the beginning, but there's still a risk that they might start nipping later on.

And my new little buddy is...
