I use pH meters at work (not this brand though) and if you do buy it then make sure to get the calibration kit as well. It doesn't cost that much and without it you will have no idea if this thing is correct and it will be useless. Calibrate it often if you use it a lot.

Also I have learned that you must take the water sample out of the aquarium. I couldn't figure out what was going on with my readings until I realized the current was changing them. Stupid me.

I have never seen the brand you found on ebay but for $9.0...
I payed I think $65. for my pinpoint
Hey TKOS
is yours plugged into an outlet ??

No we have aquite fancy one at work. It is meant for single point use those not long term. It runs on lithium bateries and is super accurate.

The thing with the cheap PH meters is that they will drift
after a while.

You need to keep the electrodes in a buffer solution when
not in use (which people dont do) which will stuff up the
accuracy.

And as someone said, you need to buy callibration solutions
too so you know its not drifting.

I was going to get one but in the end decided not to.

Anyway, once your tank has archived homeostasis
you wont need to check the PH.

I havent checked the PH in my tank in 4 months now.
I know its right.
(BTW: I dont recommend people DONT check theirs).
