anyone wanna take in a fishnerd so hes out of his current living condition?

I still don't understand how a learning disability makes you qualify for SSI.

You are right, Petluvr. A vision disability could prevent one from providing military service. If that is what he is receiving SSI for, then perhaps there are vocational programs in his area to assist him. There may even be services that will assist in matching up roommates on SSI, or at least networks which could be joined that will link people in similar situations.

I wont disagree, but I'll refrain from agreeing.

The internet is not going to help him.
I've seen his posts for a couple of years. He needs professional help instead on keyboard warriors who are unknowingly acting as enablers.

Either that or a role model (which really isn't available online).

This **** is like a train wreck. I don't want to look but I can't help it.

i agree that the internet isnt the best place to get advice from, but if it wasnt for this thread he wouldnt even be looking for an apartment

ummmm you have to find a place in 3 days or pay another months rent? Guess what, even if you were approved for this place you are in contact with, it may take more than 3 days to move in, set-up an appointment for paperwork, get electricity/utilities started.... so don't depend on being able to do that in 3... now 2 days.

The Military is a good option too, might want to look into that. I don't know how it is in your state but in NJ, they have lots to offer folks with disabilities. Like it has been mentioned already, there are jobs out there. They are not necessarily what you may want, but when it comes to making the dollar in order to live, you really can't be choosey. If you can find a job that is all you've ever hoped for, what a score. But especially given the situation you are describing, I would think you would take any job you could find. Jobs start from the bottom, and you work at moving yourself up. I speak from 23 years experience in the same job. I started at a low level and I climbed as I gained experience. Is my job my the hands down dream job in the world? No, but it gets my bills paid and I know without it, there would be things that I would have to do without. The bottom line is nothing has been handed to me. What have I learned? Nothing in life is for free, nothing will be handed to you without a price. You have to work for what you want.

the manager said if i get approved i can move in right away and thanks if this dont work out i may go into the army

LBF stated that he cannot open his eyes fully when exposed to glare from the Sun/high quantities of light. I think sunglasses could help?
And the military is definitely an option
Good luck LBF :) :) :)

if you seek the military..visit all recruiters...take what they say with a large grain of salt...
