it's looking like it might be a challenging summer.

right now I just got out of bed because it was so hot in the house. 80 degrees to be exact, and I have all the windows open, and an exhaust fan running in one window.

my goby tank is set at 75º, and the heater is not running. The lid has been open for a week, but today the tank got up to 80 and stayed there. The gobies really prefer cooler water.

in fact, all my tanks are 1-4º warmer than I want. guess I'm gonna need more ice cube trays. :(

diy a chiller to all your tanks? :D

With lights off, my tank water averages about 76-78. After just 4 hours of light, it's around 80-82. I am not looking forward to June/July/August.

Are all tanks in the same area/room? Portable A/C? Good luck!

use powerade or water bottles. get tank water and freeze them. i keep several so i always have extras. time to get some clip on fans too.

You freeze tank water in the bottles? If it's sealed in the bottle, wouldn't normal tap water be okay?

How do your fish react to the icebergs?

I do cool water waterchanges when the temps get too high here. Happens every summer.

I feel your pain. I have the hottest room in the house, with no option to turn on A/C. It will easily climb to 85 degrees in here during the summer...why did I think it was a good idea to set up a tank in here? bleh...

I do have a rather...uh...less than tasteful set of ice cube trays that were gifted to me at a party, so I guess I'll find a use for them after all. ~

i feel your pain >.< i decided it would be a good idea to set up my 125g reef tank in my bedroom with 3 MH over it... i have the heaters in the sump set to 78 the tank water is at 84.... one of the other tanks is at 86 :s im screwed when summer gets here :s

Heh, I knew you wouldn't let us down!

seriously, I'm looking forward to the diy thread!
