Aquageek's 20G Planted

Thanks for the comments! Patty, I will do that - that sounds logical to me :) . Yeah I loved the Rams for the short period that I had them. I think all Cichlids are cool - most of them just get too big for my 30G. Going to stop by the LFS tomorrow or Saturday and see if I can get a pair. I just finished installing my new lights, new black hose for the co2 which looks amazing and hides much better against the black background then the original clear hose, and my new digital thermometer.

Pictures incoming!

Full tank shot. You can see the new growth on the swords looks much much better.

Aquageek! Your tank is just lovely! I enjoyed getting to read through this whole feed and see your progress. I'm a newbie to live plants, just recently ordered my first set: a Java Fern, some Dwarf baby tears, Ludwigia red, and a couple red cardinal plants for my 20gal. I and am really looking forward to delving into the hobby and learn all I can. I'm glad to hear about your experience with the fluval 88g Co2. I was going to attempt a DIY version, but I think I'll see if I can find a fluval setup instead... it just looks so much nicer. I'm sorry to hear about your accident O2 depletion issue. Do they make timers for CO2 pumps like yours?

Hey guys! Been gone for a while but my tank is still up and going! I've changed my plants around a bit, no more swords. My java fern has exploded on my drift wood! I currently only have some red ludwigia, tiger lotus, and some a very small amount of micro swords growing from my gravel, also some hitch-hiking duck weed. The tank turned into a huge jungle for a while, and I felt I was crowding my poor angel fish. Pulled a bunch of plants out. Thinking about adding some rock, or de-coupling my large center piece of drift wood which is actually 3 pieces of wood that I used fish line to tie down to my main piece of drift wood. Also decided to go with open top, really liking it so far. Pictures!
