Aquageek's 20G Planted

Thanks, Zardra.

I've got bad news. Yesterday I was dosing heavy for co2 (2 plus bubbles per second), was going to do this just for a few hours. However, I ended up having to work late and fell asleep. I left the co2 on all night. I came into my office this morning and all of my fish were showing signs of oxygen depravation. I immediatly did a 25% water change. I now have my water level low for the return to create as much surface aggitation as possible to help release the co2. After a while I may do another 25% change. Lights are still out, but the fish are looking better. The black veil angel still isn't looking too hot though - I really hope he pulls through.

Ok, now good news. All together I did approximately 40% water change, and have kept my water level low enough that the return from my filter creates quite a bit of surface aggitation. The fish are looking pretty good, including my angel! :D

It's a really good thing that I decided to work from home today, otherwise I would not have noticed and would have went in to work... and by the time I would have got him it probably would have been too late.

Thanks, Roy.

Fish are still looking good. My angel is swimming around happily and my plants are pearling quite nicely (I'd hope so with all the co2). Air bubbles every where!

Also just placed an order for more plants from Bob's Tropical Plants.

Ordering:

Red Tiger Lotus (Really excited for this, my tank isn't covered completely so hopefully I can get it to grow out of the back!)
Red Ludwigia (Going to use this to accent the tiger lotus, should look awesome!)
Dwarf Baby Tears (I've heard this can be hard to keep, so we will see. I want to play around with more foreground stuff so I thought I'd try this)
Wisteria (Going to float this and see how I like it)
Micro Swords (I've already got a batch of this that is doing quite well. It grows sooo slow though. Adding another batch to help it fill in)

I was thinking about doing a type of moss - but that stuff scares me. I'm afraid I'll get it in and it will take off and I won't end up liking it and never be able to get it out lol. So I'm holding off on that.

Still plan on adding a few more corys to the tank. However, after today's scare I am going to hold off a day or so (was going to do this today).

Thanks for the offer, Roy, I appreciate it. I've already placed the order with Bob. However, I may take you up on the moss offer at some point.

So I was out running errands today. Had to pick up a new disposal for my sink as the motor in mine quit this morning. Wouldn't you know it, the LFS is on the way home from the hardware store :D

So I decided to pick up some more Aquavitro (phosphate and iron dosing) I pretty much have the whole line of Aquavitro now, I quite like it. While I was there I also picked up 2 new corys to bring my cory count to 5 now. I also picked up 2 blue rams - they look amazing in my tank! Those fish are just so cool looking. I am done adding fish now, I think I am pretty well stocked at this point. Just waiting for my my plants from Bob's to show up hopefully mid week!

Pictures!

Thanks, Zardra, me too!

Thanks, Patty! I ordered, red tiger lotus, red ludwigia, dwarf baby tears, wisteria, and more micro swords.

I'm thinking I will plant the red tiger lotus slightly behind the driftwood and try to get it to grow up and out the back of the tank. Going to do the red ludwigia on either end of the tank to accent the tiger lotus. I plan on floating the wisteria at first to see how that goes. And the baby tears and swords are to fill put the foreground a bit more.

Very excited!

Great choices! Take care that the wisteria stems get enough light or they will rot.
