Aquaria Central is back again, yay....yay.

I would suggest deletind all threads that are more than a month or 2 old. If they have been inactive that long they probably won't be looked at anymore. That would cut down on bandwith by a huge amount
Well, here's someone who doesn't use the search feature on this site :D

What makes you think that advice is invalid after two months? Cripes -- I spend most of my time here searching old threads *before* I post a question. IMO if more people did that then we wouldn't have the problem of constantly hashing the same old problems over and over.

Roan

I agree Roan, obviously, the old threads are something I would definitely not delete off the board, they are indeed an asset for searching things when something comes up. There's plenty of times when I find myself thinking, hmmm.... this was mentioned last June, what ever was the result after that, what can I do in the situation. Archive them as they have been done centrally maybe after a year or so but delete them.... big mistake.

What about deleting GCC and other general topic forum threads that are over a month or 2 old? Keep the ones in the topical forums so they may be searched.

AND..GCC is for stuff like purple string..etc. If you don't want to read about it..don't click on it. Very simple. There were quite a few people very entertained by it. That's value in and of itself. What entertains and amuses you may not entertain and amuse me.

AND..the value of having what is in your tanks in your signature, as was suggested when I first joined the forum...was so when you were posting questions about a partuclar tank, etc..you didn't have to type the same thing over and over again..it was all right there. It was also sugggested to put them all in one line instead of a seperate line for each item so as to shorten the signature. that's a good idea.

Personal pages on GCC..I agree..who reads them. Post a link to your personal page elsewhere if you want to share the info.

Pay to join decreases the numbers of people who join, no doubt. There is a great pay to join site out there specifically for planted tanks. You don't have trolls there. Lot of good info, and I see people from this board there. Several of them. I'm not saying that's what this board should be, but if you want that, it's out there.

I liked the purple string stories/thread, its just I couldn't find a "good" place on my bike for it. :)
