Can someone recommend a good heater for my 54 g corner tank. The one I was using just died. I did have a back up, but would like to get one that I know is good, not just what my LFS...

personnaly i like using the all glass aquarium heater because of the dial that they have, but right now im going out to but the visi-therm-stealth for my oscars. the stealth has a plastic shatterproof casing and the heater will shut off automatically if taken out the water. they have the 200 watt on sale for like 20 bucks at petsmart. just print up the page and bring it to a petsmart if you have around your area and they will price adjust it. price are different from what they have in the store and online.

visi therm stealth heaters, visi therm deluxe and hydor theo are all good heaters that i've had good luck with.

I'm only buying the Stealth heaters from now on. Cheap enough with the Petsmart price-match, and unbreakable. I've broken at least 3 glass ones in the past 2 years, mostly by forgetting to turn them off during water changes. I think I finally learned that lesson, but it took too many broken heaters. ..

Ha, I bet thats how I broke mine yesterday. I'm going to see if I can find stealth heaters around here..

i cant see myself buying anything but stealth from now on. look better than any other heater i have ever seen as well. i have had high quality glass heaters shatter in community tanks for no reason before (wasnt because of the fish knocking it around, and wasnt because of water change) so even high quality glass ones can break for no reason.

I just picked up a stealth I shouldn't have waited so long..very nice heater a 200 watt is suggested for 50 gallon..
