I have not seen much information on the Aquariumplants.com CO2 regulator so I figured I would share my first impressions. The set up was straight forward the instructions were good. I do like the adjust-ability of the unit, it has great control of bubble count as well as bubble size. The light flashes every time it releases a bubble and it makes a click sound. When I put the unit inside the cabinet and closed the doors I could not hear the click. At this point I am glad I went this unit. I just wish I didnt have to make a last minute run to the store to get a roll of pipe tape so the bottle wont leak, that roll will stay in the cabinet :D

I got my aquariumplants co2 reg last week.It seems like a well made unit.I have not set it up yet,im waiting for my diffuser.is that a 5 or 10lb tank.

do not use pipe tape on the co2 tank nozzle. it'll make it harder to seal correctly. Just crank it down as tight as you can on the nylon/fiber washer.

On this unit its a rubber o-ring. I cranked it down and it leaked, so in my case it was necessary.
 
Wow nice that they changed how CO2 is injected in the aquarium. Not liking the price though.
$249 w/LED to add to your own regulator is a little high I think.
Bad thing is there is not enough people in the planted aquatics to bring the price down.

The one with the LCD readout is more expensive, but the unit I bought with the regulator was 189.00 as pictured. For me the extra readout in not nessary, so I would not pay the extra.
 
Just a bit of advice, when installing PTFE thread tape:

Make sure to run the tape tightly across the threads, below the top thread and in the same direction as the threads are being screwed in. If you don't do this there is a good chance that a chunk of thread tape will end up plugging your unit or even ruining the solenoid.

I used to be an airsmith for paintball guns and have had to replace too many solenoids due to sloppy thread tape work.
 
I have been using this sytem with the ph controller for almost a year. PH never wavers. The reactor is ok, but works with the system. I had an early malfunction with the counter, it leaked water all over my floor, but was replaced no questions asked by the guys. I love this setup. Never misses a beat.
 
Do you know if this type of regulator can be run on a timer, I am thinking of getting one for my 46 gallon.
