I guess for me, ignorance is bliss (well, until something goes wrong)
But with mine, I was fine! I didn't soak it or anything and there's lots more colors to chosse from like brown, white, and pure black. Make sure to PM me when you get it!

Just a quick rinse shoud do the job for the slate. A lot of people use slates to hold down driftwood.

Christiantor is right, all you need is a quick rinse, or maybe a short soak, around 5 minutes.

But watch how you place them! They could fall and break your glass.

I'm looking at some Silvertip Tetras, or Rummynose to add some color and movement to my tank. Would they school and swim in and out of my driftwood?

UPDATE:

Just put the clean, soaked, waterlogged leaves in the tank.
I am so starting a new trend, highly littered tank! :nilly:
