Aquascape tips for my 10 gallon? PICS

The first thing that popped into the back of my head actually was some Vallisneria. It's a rather large plant if given room but I've found it really easy to control in shorter tanks, just needs some pruning every once in a while if you don't like the trailing on top of the water look. It also spreads well via runners and could create a nice "green curtain" look in the back and get rid of some of that glass background.

However I also like Slappy's idea of moving the wood/Abubias back and keeping the Bacopa carpet in front. Would be easier too.

Forgot to say...for the first tank, I do think something as simple as a small rock arrangement or smaller piece of wood would at least make the plant bunch on the right look less out of place and bring the 'scape together.

I really like them both! You did a great job! You have some good suggestions already. I will just second the "needs a background" one! Just grab some black posterboard and duct tape. The tanks will look totally different with a background! Great job! I cant get bacopa to grow for me...im a little jealous....

I've had vals before in my previous 55 and 75 gallon. I was thinking about getting them again, but thought that trying to keep them in a 10 would be ridiculous given they reached 2+ft quickly. Glad to hear it is possible in smaller tanks, as I was quite fond of how it looked. For now, I just moved the wood/anubias back and will wait til I have some spending money to get some more plants :)

For the betta tank, I just threw my lily's in front for now as the person who was going to get them never showed up and they were dyeing in the bucket. They look out of place, but oh well it will work til I can get some rocks or a piece of wood or do a carpet of the bacopa. So many choices! :p

Where do you get black poster board? I've searched the walmart and target here and didn't find anything. I wish I was back in CO with Michaels and Hobby Lobby at my disposal! I third that the suggestion though, I took a black tshirt (shhh... don't tell my bf it was his shirt...) to see how it would like with a background and it'd look sooooo much better!

Yes, I think filling in the floor with the bacopa would look great and that was my initial thought. As far as the ludwigia is concerned, you could line the back with it if you wanted, but I was thinking of just having the carpeted look on the right side with maybe a branchy looking piece of driftwood poking out of the right side of the ludwigia coming out over the bacopa a bit. Play around with it and see which you'd prefer.

I just saw this now, I love the idea of that! :D It's simple too, and uses the plants I have right now. :) I think I'm gonna do this instead for now as I still have my bacopa plants to use up. :)
