By an angel fish?

I've never kept either, but weighing my options for a 55 in the next few weeks.

In my personally opinion id say its a touch and go situation. Some angels might eat them while others wont. They have a wide range of personalities and it would be hard to give a deffinate answer. The best way to try to avoid this problem would be to try to get the angels as small as you cant and raise them along side the pristellas

Angelfish will eat anything small enough to fit in their mouth but that doesn't mean they can't go together. There is always a risk smaller fish or even larger fish will be killed by an Angelfish, just depends on the Angels temperament and if they're breeding.

Torpedo shaped fish are more readily eaten than disc shaped fish. So, it's a gamble.

authmal,

How is your 55 doing with the current listed stock? Are your tetras doing ok?

My tetras are doing splendidly. If you're wondering about the interaction with the angelfish, well, it's still way too small to do anything beyond look at the tetras. It can't even tackle full grown RCS yet.

I cannot imaging an Angel eatting a Pristella Tetra. I agree with Authmal, that slimmer tetras are more at risk. I have slim tetras and 4 VERY large Angels and they are still doing fine. I have resently added some more Neons from a sale at LFS, and they are still doing fine.

It's not all fun and games for things torpedo shaped..

In an Angel fish tank.

Your lucky then. My Angels devoured Neons and various other fish. They also killed fish without eating them (like my gorgeous two 6 inch Gold and platinum gourami's) Mine were large as well, 9 inches tall and pushing a little over 7 inches long.

Yeah..... gouramis and angelfish go together like dynamite and fire, typically.
