I purchased a silver arowana last thursday and was told to feed it freeze dired krill and silver side minnows but i have yet to see it eat. I am very concerned because it is starting to look thinner and it is becoming less active. It rests at the bottom of my tank in the sand and only comes up to the top to swim occasionally. PLEASE someone help me!

try something live if its a lil bigger. some small guppies minnows, other fish fry. or whatever might work.

Apac, that is very unusual for a silver arowana to rest at the bottom. This is not the norm for arowanas. How big is it? What are your water parameters? Try enticing it by putting garlic on the food. Don't try feeders. If I were you, stick with commercial foods and frozen foods.

Feed it Freeze Dried Bloodworms depending on size

yeah i forgot about garlic. is there anything visually wrong with it? was it healthy while it was at the store?

what were they feeding it at the store?

The arowana looked very healthy at the store and it had just arrived there so they said they didnt know what to feed it but said the other arowana ate silver side minnows so i bought those but my arowana hasnt ate any of them. I tried feeding it frozen bloodworms but that didnt work either. I do have the garlic substance i can put on the krill or silver side minnows. My arowana is about 7" long and he is definitely getting thinner:(
temp- 80 F
