Assassin Snails Are Killers...

all of the information on assasin snails is set back by years for everyone because his notebook fell into the water with him?

sorry i have a hard time believing this stuff to believe. it seems very...staged almost. or just made up altother.
more likely that the story was just stretched. a bunch

yeah no way snails "killed" him but if he died and fell into the water then I bet they were all over that, I mean really a dog will eat you if you die snails cant be much of an exception.

No one believed that Assassins ate Shrimp either when the first few cases were reported. So how many have to die for you to wake up and realize not everything is as it seems. I mean if someone was well versed in Assassins and was tired of people making up stuff wanted to show how easy it was to just put the kernal of a thought into someones head would you say that person wasn't real? Almost all facts started as questions or rumours so dismissing something like this out of hand is completly fine, but when the first ACer dies from being attacked by Assassin snails I will stand on my artifical soap box and yell I told you so.

Um should I be conscerned handling snails when they come in??? Now I am going to need to break out the freekin tongs and zip up suits or something? :eek3:

Well like I have said I wear 75mil Rubber gloves....

Do they put off some sort of neurotoxin or something? Now I am freaked out
Note to self: get 75mil rubber gloves

That is a theory of mine by observing the reactions of feeder snails that are attacked and attacks like msjink's brig and how it reacted after being attacked. So who is to say that that toxin couldn't effect humans. If there is even a shred of this that is real it would back that theory.

Not cool man, those are some scary snails. Guess they are not safe to consume :lipssealedsmilie:

Note to self: Keep them away from spongebob fishtanks...Dora the explorer is safe though :thm:

Maybe. Maybe they're like cone snails with a neurotoxin, which can range from bee sting like to fatal (also varies with personal reactions to it), that has a harpoon like appendage for injection. Maybe they have their own mechanism that isn't known yet. Kind of like how only recently garter snakes where found to have toxins in their saliva (think like komodo dragon, but less dangerous). And some species in their genus actually do have a mild neurotoxic venom and enlarged back teeth (though not a true back-fanged snake). Anyway, the point was... new things are discovered every day, sometimes from unsavory circumstances. :lipssealedsmilie:

Is that what that little thingy they have sticking out from their shell all the time? Like a neurotoxin spear??
