Assassin Snails Are Killers...

They are related to SW Welks which have a neurotoxin so it could be but I have mainly seen the trunk used like a nose. they will eave it sticking up when buried in the sand.

Is that what that little thingy they have sticking out from their shell all the time? Like a neurotoxin spear??

What, on a cone snail? It's this:

It's a retractable appendage that connects to the toxin gland in the animal. Haha, you know now that I'm looking at it again it kind of reminds me of when my apple snails stick out their breather tube thing lol ... uh oh...

OK getting away from this thread. I just youtubed the cone snail *shudders* my DH's mom had one he said he jumped everytime it ate a fish :(

So how many have to die for you to wake up and realize not everything is as it seems.

Just one. But it's going to have to be something a little more convincing then a paragraph on the internet, full of plot holes and spelling errors. Like, some sort of evidence, say, or perhaps a witness. Really, anything that exists outside of hyperspace. Then maybe I'll give it some serious thought.

I have half a mind to eat a couple of my assassin snails, just to see if there's enough poison in them to kill a man. Maybe I'll feed them to something I don't care too much about. The neighbor's dog has really been irritating me lately.

Do you people honestly believe that with the scores of people out there, keeping and selling and trading these snails in what must be at least the hundreds, that not one of them has had any adverse reaction or attack, but the only person to actually get killed would be a scientiffic expert, working on the definitive study on this species, and be killed by a mob of these snails in the middle of the **** wilderness? Please

It shouldn't be difficult to do some searches on this "Hans Feinkelstien" or the "Invert Research Foundation" to find out if there is any truth to this article.

So, where is the link to where this was found?

The article is written as if by a smart ten year old.
Hans Feinkelstien of the Invert Research Foundation??? FINKELSTEIN? Are you kidding me? And the "Invert" Research Foundation? Sounds very legitimate.

A google search of this topic has turned up...

Nothing.

This is over the top ridiculous.
