So I went into Petco today and asked the worker about the upcoming $1/gallon sale. It was confirmed. I asked if I could put some tanks on hold (20gal long and 40 gal breeder) but they said no, first come first served. So I asked if I could just buy the tanks now, and bring back the receipt on sunday when the sale starts, and they said yeah that's cool.
So I bought a 40 gal breeder for $99, but on sunday I'm bringing in my receipt and getting $60 back! ;)
I'll just get the 20 gal long on sunday cause they had a ton. Might as well buy it with the money I'm getting back, right? :naughty:

I got the only 40 gal breeder they had. The 55 was sooooooo tempting but I've had my heart set on a 40 gal breeder cause i love the shape of the tank. I also live in a small apartment so anything over 55 would just be an awesome looking inconvenience.

So, just letting you all know, go out and go buy them tanks! Don't wait like a chump for opening day!

also, while i was there, someone asked if they could donate their fish (cause it got too large). it was a monstrous chinese algae eater. we're talkin 5.5" long and 1" top to bottom, dorsal fin not included. the petco couldn't take it cause they had no room, so i offered to take it and so i did. it's a beaut :thud:

I would be nervous they wouldnt give me my money back lol...... i heard stands were on sale too, 10% off or something?

If they do not give you your money back as promised you can always just return the whole setup and then re-buy it. I am sure they will love that.

manager said it was cool, so there really isn't anything to be worried about. besides, a customer that just bought 2 somewhat large tanks from you isn't one you'd want to lose, right?

thats awesome, but yeah, just make sure they honor that deal. it would be far to easy for them to be like "that employee wasn't authorized to make such a decision" blah blah
in that case just be like "ok i want to return it then"
and THEN buy a new one
lmao

Another thread stated tank sizes 10 thru 40, is that accurate........:)

no, it's for tanks up to 55gal. i think that means 2.5's and 5's are fair game.... actually now that i think about it, they would lose way too much money selling 2.5's or 5's for $1/gal since 5's cost more than 10's normally.... who cares, go buy some.

LOL, who needs furniture any way ........:duh:

I want one of every size...but a 5 would do nicely for a betta for me...heehee
