baby...eaten??

hmm, dwarf puffers are very rarely OK in anything but a species-only tank. I know many stores have them labeled as "community fish" but they are not. It sounds like you already know to expect some aggression from them. Be very careful, as they will often kill much larger fish by tearing their fins until the other fish succumbs to stress or infection.

Also, what do you plan on feeding them? I have a dwarf puffer tank, too, and they were difficult to feed. I have since trained them to accept a variety of foods, but they're all live or frozen. They almost never accept prepared foods such as flakes or pellets.

ive been reading up on the dwarf puffer forums and a lot of people who are experienced with them say each has a different personality/temperment so i figured id put them in and see how they get along and if mine are aggressive im gonna take out the other fish. theyve been in the tank for a few hours now and ive been closely watching them (from my couch hehe) and they just seem to be hanging out together not really noticing or bugging any of the other fish and the other fish dont seem bothered by them either so hopefully it will work! we havent fed them anything yet but my gf got some frozen brine shrimp as well as frozen bloodworms in-case they dont like one or the other. the lady at the lfs told her to let them thaw in a shot glass with some tank water first and then toss them in for them to eat. im gonna try feeding them tonight but i have read on the dp forum that a lot of people have trouble with their dp's eating the first few days they have them.

good for you for doing your homework
