baby mosquito larvae?

been used as food for years the only problem is the ones that don't get eaten lol
I know what you mean, Anne.:D
I don't know a lot about west nile, but I don't think it is a risk to fish. Does anyone know this to be true?
Not a risk to the fish because it is not a fish disease but it is to a human.

with west nile it's not so much you worry about the fish.
but cultivating mosquitos can increase the chance of west nile virus. if mosquitos escape and they will, then you are adding to the problem.

there are other pathogens that can be carried by the female and transferred to the larvae. some of those pathogens could be risky for the fish.

I'm not saying don't cultivate mosquitos..but if you choose to do this then please consider all the ramifications involved.(be educated)

hearing that it may be legal in your state, as it is in many states, I am going to recommend against such practice. I personally think you need to find out if it is illegal in your state and if so, your answer is there. Simply don't do it, it's not worth it. The law is in effect for a reason. Perhaps there have been findings of disease laden mosquitos and as mentioned, the ones that escape (and some will), it will only exacerbate things.
