I used to work with a Virginia who was called Ginny, so did you get the nickname? These celebrities are crazy! But what do they care, their kids will never get made fun of except by people like us! Their kids will never go to a normal school, and what better comeback can you have, but sooo what, my moms gwenyth paltrow?!?!?! I'm going home to my mansion now!!
A friend of mines mother named all the girls Mary and all the boys another name (a religious thing) so all the girls went by their middle names.

My brothers girlfriend is named Hallelujah but she goes by hallie. i didnt believe her but i later found out it really is her name.

My wife and I have always liked the old fashioned sounding names. Our daughter is named Emma (which at the time was still considered unusual until it was used on "Friends") and our newborn son's name is Owen, but would have been Claire if he turned out to be a she..

Unusual spellings are cool with me as long as they are rooted in some sort of tradition. I never liked the idea of being creative with spelling, but we almost used a gaelic spelling for our son's name........Owen --> Eoin. I really love the way it looks, but in the end, we stayed with the English spelling.
